Haven is a crime drama directed by Frank E. Flowers starring Orlando Bloom, Zoe Saldana, Agness Bruckner, Anthony Mackie, Bill Paxton and Victor Rasuk.

A good film, I can’t deny that. Even if I didn’t love it at all. I’m not at all a fan of films about money laundering, money, gangsters, people who move to islands to escape the feds. But the direction is good. The pace isn’t bad, but nothing is perfect.

That said, the ending is very nice and even touching. A film like this couldn’t end any better, anyway.

Bill Paxton, an actor who died too soon, is a pleasure to watch in this film. He was one of cinema’s most famous supporting actors. In fact, he’s known as the first actor to have played a character killed by an Alien (in Aliens, the Return), by a Terminator (in the first Terminator) and by a Predator (in Predator 2). And that’s just the beginning!

Orlando Bloom, always perfect in his playboy or bad boy roles. And to think it was his role as the elf that made him famous!

He also co-produced this film. He must have believed strongly in it.

Zoe Saldana: try as I might, I just can’t get attached to this actress. I’ve never seen her in a role where I found her incredible, transcendent.

Agnes Bruckner: exactly the opposite of Zoe in my eyes. She always plays well and chooses her films well, which I watch with great pleasure.

As for Anthony Mackie and Victor Rasuk, they’re both similar and unbearable in this film. That’s to be expected: they play thugs who think they can get away with anything !

⭐⭐⭐ A film to see once.
