Walking Against The Rain: A Horror/Comedy directed by Jason Lyus. The woman who plays Blair, Sophia Eleni, is absolutely perfect, really great in her role. And every reaction she makes is spot-on, precise and screamingly spontaneous. Her character is also pragmatic, without illusions and very caring. Not so for Tommy, played by Reece Douglas. He’s jaded and fed up. He doesn’t really want to fight any more. The actor is good… but you’d have to see him elsewhere, because he’s less transcendent. I can’t decide whether it’s the character or the actor.

Diane Spencer: we only see her for 5 minutes in the role of a detestable, extremist nun, no doubt part of a cult. An actress who manages to make people hate her in just a few minutes, which is no mean feat. The same goes for Francesca Louise. She plays someone who is so desperate and hungry that she’s ready to kill. Johnny Vivash plays hope in this film. This farmer, who has lost all his family and friends, still has his heart in his hand. Actually, I’m talking about these actors as if I knew them… but this is the first time I’ve seen them. They’re all British, unless I’ve made a grotesque mistake. A post-apocalyptic film devoid of anything… except gore and love! Makes a change !!!!! Indeed, there’s friendship, good feelings, suspense and humour.

What’s more, the monsters are brilliant. Well, I’ll be honest: I’m desperate for well-made, scary monsters that aren’t CGI, because they always look so fake. But even if the gamble seems to have paid off here, these monsters are still undeniably reminiscent of Alien and Predator. Whether it’s their charisma, their shape or the sounds they make.Has it become so hard to be completely original? How sad !
