Better Watch Out is a home invasion Christmas-themed horror film directed by Chris Peckover.  The story involves a babysitter and a 12 year old who must fight violent  home invaders during Christmas. 

If I had to rate the lead actress, Olivia DeJonge, I’d give it 5 stars! If I had to judge the first half-hour, I’d give it 5 stars too. So what was going through my head? How much am I really going to give?

Clever, unexpected, perverse and crazy! It was when I saw the word perverse that I should have been suspicious! As far as malignant is concerned, it’s rather unhealthy that should be used, once again! That’s what makes this not a good film in my eyes… That said, I liked the ending! Kind of like Eden Lake, but with a little hope this time. There’s a little justice here. Tiny, but it’s something! After all, I’m sick and tired of coming out of these movies depressed. Long live hope! So, I’m still going to go up to three stars!!!

It’s true that this film is surprising. It doesn’t go at all in the direction it indicates at the start, which makes it an original film all the same. After that, you have to like it! Tastes and colors…
