So…You already know the beginning of my review since I kept it intact : Watching films has become a game for me now! The pleasure is no longer in the cinematography, but in the game. The game is to see how long the film holds interest… knowing that all current films suck!!! This one lasted a good hour. Hats off to you! It’s not at all. Alas, it lasts 45 minutes longer ! Anya Taylor-Joy: in an ambiguous role. But if anyone’s a star, it’s her! Her eyes alone are piercing. And her naturalness too. Ralph Fiennes: has lost his incredible charisma in this film. It doesn’t stop him from being disturbing and frightening.Nicholas Hoult: as a naive fan, annoying as hell. It’s a change from his roles as a gay man falling in love with Colin Firth, a mutant in the X-Men or a zombie falling in love with a human. John Leguizamo: excellent in this role of charmer, loser, failed actor, and not very fine manipulator. What Mark Mylod managed to do with Ali G is just great… but apart from that, his films are not very appealing to me. I didn’t like the way the film vacillated so much between horror, thriller and comedy. It doesn’t feel very controlled. It’s as if the film changed direction according to the director’s moods. The dark humour is not always funny to me. Anyway! As I said, I loved this film for an hour. But the last forty minutes made it lose three stars… and ended up being a pretty good movie. The ending? Phew! It just made me laugh a little bit. I would have preferred to have laughed or gloated with excitement. Shame, Too bad, once again. My rating ⭐⭐1/2
