You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger directed by Woody Allen. Woody Allen’s frustration and twisted, tortured sides sometimes make fiascos… but sometimes miracles!
Here, it’s a little in-between.
Indeed, it is one of his good films. I could even say one of his best… as I’m not a big fan of the great Woody!
“Match Point” is a film to see, even if it is horrible and disturbing.
“Scoop” is a film I really like, even though it wasn’t that successful.
I don’t have fond memories of Celebrity, but I might give it a second chance. “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex” has very little going for it.
“Vicky Cristina Barcelona” wasted its potential. As a result, it is unsuccessful and bad.
I really liked Wonder Wheel (2017), though.
I still have plenty to see, admittedly.
Here, all the actors have a good role, in the sense that you see them all enough. Nobody is there for more than a few seconds. All of them! Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts, Anna Friel, Ewen Bremner, Freida Pinto.
Once again, it’s not them that’s the problem… but the fact that the film doesn’t end.
There are plenty of interesting stories that start. But they go off in all directions because of twists. And they never end. Once again, like Match Point, we don’t get the justice we want.
After that, to see, each one has his own style!
It depends if you go to the cinema to dream, as long as it’s not ultra exaggerated, or to come out depressed by seeing hopeless realism.
That’s it!
No need for me to go further. My rating ⭐⭐⭐
