Girlfight is a sports drama directed by Karen Kusama. It’s about an young woman’s journey to being a notable female champion boxer. In “Girlfight”, Michelle Rodriguez proved her great talent and can be compared to a diamond in the rough ! Unfortunately, she then seems to have lost herself in secondary roles (Blue Crush, S.W.A.T., Fast & Furious) which I haven’t really seen, but that doesn’t make me too keen.

I was very happy to see her in Resident Evil and the second season of Lost. With this film she’s managed to break through! It’s a good film for women.”Women, this film gives you strength !!!”

But it can inspire anyone, really.

The rub is that this film is good, but monotonous. Girlfight is a good enough film in its own right, it’s just a bit dull over the length. There aren’t many locations and there’s a lot of rehearsal, but it’s worth a look. It’s a shame she’s only known as a Fast & Furious actress by some. But this woman has a real bite.

It’s hard not to think of Million Dollar Baby when you see this women’s fight film. It’s a boxing film worth seeing, but you have to be aware that it doesn’t have the power of Rocky, who remains the absolute master. Having said that, this film shows things you don’t often see in other films (physical brawl with a relative, mixed boxing matches) and that makes it all the more intriguing and interesting. My rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐
