Eat Local is a British horror comedy film. I had a lot of fun & laughed for the first half hour. Much less so for the next hour.

The soundtrack is very good, featuring a lot of good bands as English as the film. Alas… it doesn’t come close to Shawn of the Dead! There are some good moments, some good action scenes and, on the whole, some good humour.  But it’s not that permanent. There is some really ridiculous stuff. And there are moments where the sauce doesn’t really take. A scandal when you think it’s a vampire dinner!

The British don’t hit the nail on the head every time. There are some pretty bad mistakes in their work too. All in all : excellent ideas… which could have been really better exploited! But I think that real vampire hunters should have been part of the game and not only more or less stupid military. Too many ambiguities in the vampires and their goals. I don’t mind that it’s a comedy and that the situations can be nonsense, but I’ve really been used to better in the past.

The actors are okay. But, not to be mean, they don’t have anything too complicated to do.

Jason Flemyng, who apparently hasn’t done anything but masterpieces, has apparently done the film “355” which looks totally rubbish. It’s going to be a slam dunk, I guess, when I watch it for the sake of humanity. I have to sacrifice for my reviews… because somebody has to do it ! 😉 My rating ⭐1/2
