Music Reviews : Black Honey- A Fistful of Peaches (2023)

BLACK HONEY – A Fistful of Peaches (2023) Very good album… but this time, I’m not going to put it in my favourite albums of all time. I don’t know if it’s a question of mood or not. Sometimes I’m not bothered by a band’s lack of originality, as long as their music is good. But this time I felt a bit jaded. I’m aware that I’m not at all objective. But this album just didn’t thrill me as much as others I’ve heard in the same genre recently. On the plus side: good lyrics, great energy, very good alternative and indie rock and, above all, I’m so glad this kind of band still exists in 2023 ! I’m not worried about this flame going out.

I’m going to get really interested in this band. I’m going to watch their videos. Something tells me they like to shock and must be quite committed. I may be wrong, but I’m basing my opinion on a few images I’ve seen here and there on their site. I’ll keep you posted. I’m also going to see what they’re like live and listen to their other albums. There are quite a few bands whose quality degrades/declines over time. If a fourth album is good, the previous three are usually even better. I’ll see what category I can put them in.
