Injustice (2021) review: One thing I can’t forgive this animated feature… is killing and making Flash die in the first two minutes. If he wasn’t one of my favorite heroes, it would have less of an effect on me. So: one star less!!!
But plenty of Super-Heroes die in this movie and even some super important Super-Villains like the Scarecrow. I guess that’s the kind that can happen. Why not after all. Especially if there is no sequel and in each episode everyone is resurrected as if nothing happened. Everything is possible in the comics.
Basically, here, the Joker kills Lois Lane, while she is pregnant by Superman. The Man of Steel, mad with anger, takes revenge and kills the Joker. Batman knows that he has become uncontrollable and that his anger is just beginning. But the Super Heroes split in two, like in Marvel’s Civil War. Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Hawkman join Superman in forcing peace on Earth, using violence and intimidation to bring about peace. Batman is aided by the likes of Green Lantern and Plastic Man. Harley Quinn, angry that the Joker is dead, also joins Batman.
Robin agrees with Superman’s method and is even happy, as he feels that Batman should have killed the Joker long ago. But Robin also gets out of control and in a big battle, dominated by anger, he kills his friend and second guide Nightwing. But the spirit of Nightwing will help him later, after swallowing his anger.
Full of moments of complicity, tragic moments, spectacular action… this episode is terribly well done and devilishly effective!
