Marnie Stern – The Comeback Kid (Review)

It’s hard to talk about Marnie Stern without mentioning the fact that she did a stint in The Late Show’s house band with Seth Meyers. This album is a slap in the face! Twelve songs dispatched with fury and power in less than half an hour. There’s a definite punk edge to their two-minute songs. Indie, alternative, excellent rock! Yes, that’s all I’m listening to these days. But it’s so good.
Maybe it’s also because the other albums I’ve listened to have bored me to tears, and I haven’t even had the pleasure of writing about them in my reviews.

The Comeback Kid is explosive, uncompromising and unfiltered. It’s the way society should be, and always should have been. It’s also not devoid of humor, and it’s very creative.

I haven’t listened to her first album, but I will as soon as I can.
