House at the End of the Street (2012) The movie’s name reminiscent of: “The house at the end of the park”, “the Cabin in the Woods” or even “the last house on the left”! But I think I liked this one better than all the others.I had read this: “A sort of modern version of Psycho, I didn’t like either of them…”.Although, alas, I read this review before seeing this film… and as a result, I had it stuck in my head throughout… well… it didn’t spoil all my fun.I know what he means! But I’m a Psycho fan myself!I’m really coming to terms with Jennifer Lawrence. I think it’s really Hunger Games I’ve got a problem with, actually!Elisabeth Shue is not the actress of the century in my eyes. She wasn’t the best actress in Back to the Future or Hollow Man (if I’m not mistaken!), but she’s got a good character here. The actors are pretty good overall. Nice little story of a budding love affair that turns into a nightmare. The most innocent are not the ones you think.Twisted, very weird… but rather nice. No gore, suspenseful, well directed and beautifully shot against a backdrop of pretty landscapes…In short… I had the good time I was looking for !
