The Last House on the Street (2021) Oh dear! Before I watch another film, I absolutely must write my review of this one. There are amateur films that are sometimes better than real films. But there are also films that look totally amateurish. And this is one of them! I always try to be as open-minded as possible, not to overlook different points of view when observing a work. I also try to understand the dark areas, see interviews, do research. Right. At the same time, this film doesn’t make me want to do any research at all! I’ve said several things to myself: if it’s a parody… well, it’s not funny enough and there are even some very dull moments. If it’s a comedy, you’ve missed out, because the humour really isn’t funny. If it’s a horror thriller, where’s the suspense? No, really! give my verdict: poor direction, lack of filmic pace, an ultra-poorly exploited story. The actors are not only bad, they’re also badly directed. Except for Ashley Rene, who comes off well. But then again, she’s just playing up her charm. You’d have to see her in a dramatic role to really judge her performance. She’s simply the only one here who’s more or less believable. I’m aware that a film with a name like that can’t be good. I already hated the remake of The Last House On The Left (2009). I haven’t yet seen the original “The Last House On Dead End Street (1977).” Only “House at the End of the Street (2012)” makes the cut. Warning: all these titles get mixed up, so you have to be careful not to get confused. And I’m not talking about “The House at the End of the Street” or “The Cabin in the Woods” or “The Last House on the Left”! The trailer for this film is good. But pretty girls and good music are not enough to make a good film! The trash that is “9 songs” can easily confirm this! It’s amazing how one bad film can remind you of another. I could stop here, but I could go on for hours about every detail that was wrong or that I didn’t like about this film. The story of a dirty loser who is constantly followed doing uninteresting things like pissing, drinking beer, smoking, taking a dump, looking at his mobile phone after going to the toilet without washing his hands…In short! Let’s stop the ordeal! It’s fair to say that there’s nothing good about this film and that the director must be a teenager whose brain has already been destroyed. It’s sad to think that anyone with talent should end up in an institution at such a young age. PS: there’s also a book by that name “The Last House on the Street” by Diane Chamberlain. But this book apparently has nothing to do with this film. The novelist will be outraged if she finds out… and it will be depression guaranteed, if she hasn’t already.
