The Pool (นรก 6 เมตร) (2018) Hello, friends!I wanted to see a crocodile film… and I came across the disastrous Creature (2011), which features a half-man, half-crocodile monster. It could have been good, but it was pathetic. It really sucks and is too bad. As a result, I really wanted to see a film with a crocodile, but a very realistic one, where you didn’t keep seeing all the CGI tricks and special effects. That’s how I came across this Thai film.I’d love to say I’d stumbled across this little gem… but it’s not that good.As a reminder, I love the first Lake Placid and I really like the two Black Water films. This film belongs in the survival horror genre. It’s gripping, suspenseful and full of twists and turns, with a rather clever sadistic crocodile. The lead duo do very well, especially Theeradej Wongpuapan, as Ratnamon Ratchiratham is injured and unconscious for much of the film. The crocodile is quite realistic, yes, I got what I wanted from that aspect. However, what spoils the film is the last twenty minutes, which are totally unrealistic, even surreal. You don’t believe it for a second. And you get the impression that the director is wavering between a happy and a tragic ending. This ending definitively relegates the film to the ranks of good films and causes it to lose its place as an excellent film, as well as a very good one. It’s a real shame!
