While Jennifer’s Body (2009) was completely rubbish, but Jennifer 8 is a good film! The story involves a former Los Angeles homicide detective, investigates a multiple murder case in San Diego. The only witness is a blind girl to whom he is immediately attracted. This thriller is well worth seeing. It’s quite exciting. You don’t really know until the end…That said, although I split the film into two parts, I didn’t enjoy the second half as much. The first part is with the excellent Lance Henriksen, the second with the mythical John Malkovich, in a rather irritating role here. Andy Garcia, the main character, comes through like a champ, once again. I don’t know much about Kevin Conway and Graham Beckel. I’ve seen them here and there, but I can’t remember any of their specific roles. They’re pretty important roles here. I don’t really like Kathy Baker, but here she’s not at all distracting. As for Uma Thurman, it’s often said that she’s a great actress. But I’m not always convinced. She plays a blind woman… but she doesn’t have a cane and hardly bumps into walls when she moves. Either she still has a sixth sense, which we’re not talking about here, or the director has directed her really badly. A good little unpretentious crime thriller, worth seeing once. Unless you don’t like this kind of film, of course!
