Girl at the Window (2022) Directed by Mark Hartley. A teenage girl in the suburbs becomes convinced that her mom’s new boyfriend is the serial killer terrorizing the town, and will stop at nothing to prove it.
So…This will be over very quickly! Some films are rubbish, others are pointless, and sometimes they even manage to combine the two. Personally, I think we need to find a category for even worse films ! This film is pathetic! I’ve never liked Radha Mitchell, except in the excellent “Phone Booth”, known as “Phone Game” in our French-speaking countries; a film that was shot in just 10 days! With a simple yet terrible script. A must-see! Ah, but… damn, that wasn’t the film I was supposed to be talking about! OK, then. Girl at the Window is boring. Predictable film! Once you’ve seen the summary, there are no surprises. Incoherent, slow, boring, with no real suspense.
Probably inspired by 2007’s “Disturbia”, with a rather convincing Shia LaBeouf, even though I don’t adore this actor either. But inspired or not, this film blew it! They wanted to make a female version. It’s sad: we’ll have to try again! But with a different director and different actresses.
