Even Lambs Have Teeth (2015)

“Even Lambs Have Teeth is a French-Canadian horror film.
So far, so good!

A 2015 film written and directed by Terry Miles and starring Kirsten Prout and Tiera Skovbye. The film tells the story of two young women who seek revenge on the sex-trafficking ring that kidnapped and abused them.
And so…
Let’s not mince words: yes, this is indeed a Rape & Revenge.
A film where one or more people are raped and then take their revenge.
I will, by the way, soon be reviewing “The land-Mine goes Click”, from 2014, all of a sudden.

Kirsten Prout, one of the two lead actresses, began her acting career at the age of ten after appearing in a commercial. She wasn’t too keen on being or remaining a Disney princess, and figured that acting was the only way she could turn her life into a career. She had said, “I grew up on film sets where I was treated like I was 25…. At university, you’re in classes with incredibly intelligent people. You realize you’re not an expert in everything.”

At the age of 13, Prout made her film debut in the lead role of Abigail “Abby” Miller in the 2005 Super-Hero film “Elektra”. In fact, with a passion for martial arts, Kirsten received a black belt in taekwondo at the age of 13. That year, she was chosen to star in the film and performed her own stunts in the film. The film’s producer, Gary Foster, had this to say about finding Prout: “We did a big search… and frankly in Los Angeles or New York, we figured we’d find someone there. She came to audition and we were blown away.”

So much for her.
I wanted to dwell a bit on this talented actress, but Tiera Skovbye is just as great. She was also a child actress.

This film is probably the best Rape & Revenge I’ve seen, even if I don’t think this kind of feature film can ever be a masterpiece. It’s true that there’s something jouissif, in the moments of revenge, in spite of everything, in these films! As horrible as they are…

This film appealed to me more than the others, because it’s a bit offbeat.
But we do agree that there are inconsistencies in behavior, and that you have to wonder who the real villains are, once everyone descends into extreme violence that’s meant to be totally justified. It’s highly debatable!

That said, this film doesn’t insist on horrible moments, and there are no unbearable long Scenes, unbearable endless torture. And that’s fine by me!
