Cherryade – Sinking Ship (Music Review)

Cherryade – Sinking Ship – EP I can’t find any physical support for this band, Another band that will disappear if the Internet disappears. Cherryrade is reminiscent of The Ting Tings or Icona Pop… but worse than both! This Pop and Electro band isn’t one of London’s best, as far as I’m concerned. If they don’t take themselves too seriously, that’s fine. If they take themselves seriously, I feel I’m going to like them even less. But I don’t really feel like going to see their videos right now. Maybe tomorrow. Or next week! The kind of music you can dance to in a club, without thinking. The kind of music that’s quickly created, but serves to please the masses. I don’t have a huge problem with it… but I do think it’s sad that Aqua were so criticized back in the day, when they were so much better too. Four tracks, all together lasting around eleven minutes. The first track and the last one are the ones I like the most. Maybe I’d have loved this EP if it hadn’t been for the two tracks in between. But one thing’s for sure: it’s not great music. The greats like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys and Human League would be ashamed to discover that their musical progeny are so unsought.
