Addicted to Fresno (2015) Before seeing this film, I didn’t know what genre I was going to be dealing with. The film starts out serious, but after twenty-five minutes, I saw that we’d gone in the direction of Comedy. But the funny thing is, I knew right from the start that I was going to be bored. It’s the kind of film where you know within five minutes that it’s going to be boring. So why did I watch it to the end? Because I always watch to the end: you never know!

Another thing that can still be called funny is the fact that in almost all the worst films I’ve seen, there’s always a good song. Here it’s “Better” by the band Teen, which is nice. As if we knew it was so bad that we had to save it at any cost! A film about sexual addiction… but once again, it’s clearly more about nymphomania. Even if the director tries to correct the situation with some touching moments, we don’t really believe it: the damage has already been done! Films far too sexual to understand the pain of addiction. Far too vulgar, no subtlety. This puts it among the worst of American Pie.

A film that proves, once again, that actresses with great potential like Aubrey Plaza & Judy Greer rarely know how to choose good films or good roles. As for Natasha Lyonne, whom I didn’t know, I don’t think I’ll be following her career voluntarily. In fact, I think I’ve already forgotten what she looks like. That’s to say what I thought of her charisma. Apart from her gorgeous hair and her fake epileptic seizure, there’s nothing exceptional about her.

Still, I’ll give it two stars for the tiny funny moments, pretty decent acting for the two best-known characters, and an ending that’s not too bad. But don’t hesitate to throw this film away if you have it! Seeing it, once, on the net is more than enough.
