Wrong Place (2022) A methamphetamines cook hunts down the former Police chief of a small town in order to silence him before he can deliver eyewitness testimony against his family, but ultimately finds himself up against more than he had bargained for.

In five minutes, the stage is set and the color is announced! There are two dramas in less than five minutes, to be precise. The third comes about fifteen minutes later…The film could have been good, but there are some long stretches that take on the feel of a TV movie. There are inconsistencies, insipid dialogue and irrational reactions. The chronology, the duration of events, the time… we don’t believe it at all. And that takes all the suspense out of the film. We’ve rarely seen a criminal so lacking in credibility, so unscary, even laughable! Having said that, I couldn’t give a single star to a film that reunites Bruce Willis and Ashley Greene, even if it’s an extremely bad movie.

Bruce is true to himself in his late-career films, which is to say a bit of a shadow of his former self, alas. And yet, it’s always such a pleasure to see him again. Wrong Place is one of his last films. He wasn’t well at all during filming. He’s now retired from acting because he’s been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. As for Ashley, she’s doing pretty well, she’s doing what she can, but she’s clearly been misdirected. This director, Mike Burns, had previously reunited Bruce Willis and Jaime King, but I don’t know what it’s worth, even if I now have a small idea of what I’m likely to discover if I also see this film. I hope Burns doesn’t make too many films in the future, especially if he doesn’t improve. Because here, we’re really dealing with amateur work. Common Sense Media’s Tara McNamara gave the film one star out of five, writing that “disposable action films like this are notorious for featuring a tough name, a forgettable plot, a low production budget and a high number of weapons.
