Possession (2009) (Review)

Possession (2009) When I saw the title Possession with Sarah Michelle Gellar in the cast, I thought it was going to be rubbish or a dud. And yet, I loved this film! A nice surprise!!! Admittedly, I like Sarah Michelle in Buffy, I like The Grudge, Cruel Intentions and even Scooby-Doo, that’s saying a lot! In the end, I like her a lot more than I think I do, actually,But I was under the impression that it was more along the lines of films like the very average States of Shock, the very bad Southland Tales or the null and void Harvard Story.Fortunately, that’s not the case.Impeccably directed, with an intriguing ending, good suspense and some very good ideas.Maybe I won’t give it 5 stars (yes, I can be super-demanding!), because once the incredible surprise has worn off and the emotions have dissipated, I’m not sure we’ll want to see this film again. It’s not like a 6th sense that you have to see a second time.However…It’s all debatable!I take back what I wrote !!! After a few years, if you’ve forgotten everything, it’ll be worth seeing it again. Those who’ve seen all the films in this genre will certainly say it’s a rehash. But that’s not my opinion. Or maybe I just don’t watch enough of these films! Which would really surprise me…
