Halestorm – Back From the Dead (2022)Not my style ! Halestorm is an American rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, featuring singer/guitarist Elizabeth “Lzzy” Hale, drummer Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith. The full name of this Hard Rock singer and rhythm guitarist is Elizabeth Mae “Lzzy” Hale IV! She co-founded this band in 1997 and Arejay Hale is her brother. I always feel a bit helpless when I write this kind of review… simply because I don’t really like this style of music.

Yet I’ve just listened to the whole thing. And I’ll even listen to another of their albums on occasion. But I don’t know that I can force myself to like something that doesn’t touch me, a priori. It’s very powerful, well-paced. All the musicians are good, and Izzy is certainly an excellent singer. For that alone, I’m still going to give them three stars. I’d have given them five if I’d been able to be objective and if I adored this style. The ones I adore, on the other hand, are the Germans from Guano Apes. Some things can’t be explained.
