Artist Spotlight: 2 Album Releases from The Vaccines (2022 & 2024)

The Vaccines – Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations (2024) Excellent! I see The Vaccines have made another album. Now… what will it sound like? The suspense is at its height…Have they gone downhill, without wishing to be unkind, like so many others, to name but Bloc Party, or Editors? Or will they keep their power and delight me once again? Will they succeed in following in the footsteps of the best like Franz Ferdinand, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of the Dead, Blood Red Shoes, Keane, The Wombats…?In any case, they haven’t disappeared like the late Bravery, Rakes or…Oops! I almost added Interpol, but they were back in 2022. I’ll have to listen to that album, too. Anyway! Just like those excellent Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines have decided to come back in 2024! And…IT’S A SUCCESS!!! I was expecting a lot from this album… and it didn’t disappoint me one bit. So, of course, the most malicious tongues will say that there’s nothing new under the sun, that this band hasn’t evolved, that they do the same thing all the time. What they fail to mention is that what they do, they do ultra well! These bad tongues are the same idiots who say that Indie Rock is always the same thing. Not very different from those who say the same thing about Ska, Punk and Reggae. It’s the same people who say that Jazz is rubbish, or that Heavy Metal is just people yelling at noise. The tragedy is that these people don’t know anything about something called Music, which takes many forms! And that’s a real shame… The Vaccines prove once again that Rock is not ready to die, and that Indie Rock still has many years ahead of it. Punk can be proud of its shining child. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The Vaccines – Planet of the Youth (2022) EP I’m an ultra mega fan of The Vaccines. But these 6 tracks are not as good as what they did before and after. These are the first tracks to be written and created after Covid and its changes. The band wanted to offer their fans something fresh. I wonder if it didn’t create new fans for them instead. But there are bound to be disappointments among the audience, that’s inevitable.You can’t find this EP in physical form. And it’s not me who’s bothered by that! As long as people don’t tell me it’s the best thing this band has ever done, I’m fine with it. 🌟🌟🌟
