Batman – Mask of the Phantasm (1993) Here, of course, there’s a nod to The Phantom of the Opera ๐Ÿ˜‰ A rather nice animated feature. Not one of my favorites, but interesting nonetheless. A new character appears in Gotham and seems to brutally eliminate the biggest gangsters.

Since he’s wearing Batman’s cape and silhouette, some people think that the vigilante has gone mad and started shooting criminals, not just arresting them. As a result, Batman also starts investigating… There are characters of varying degrees of interest. But above all, The Joker is back, as fit as ever. And that’s it! The denouement may seem as ridiculous as it is logical. It’s up to you to decide! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

Batman & Mr. Freeze – Subzero (1998) Mr. Freeze as ever true to himself. He’s really the big-hearted bad guy who always just wants to save his wife, who’s on the verge of death. I’m not sure that the concept is worn to the bone, since we don’t see that much of Dr. Freeze, it seems to me. He’s never appeared as much as the Joker, Enigma, The Penguin, Two-Face and so on. Here, he goes after Barbara Gordon (who is also Batgirl).

He kidnaps her because her blood is rare and compatible with that of his wife. Barbara is James Gordon’s daughter or niece, depending on the version. There is a series of comics that explain that she loses her parents in a car accident. Roger, her father, drives drunk and takes Thelma, his wife, with him. Barbara is adopted by James Gordon, sometimes also known as Jim.

This episode is thrilling, but also touching, as every time we see Freeze. Batman & Robin, along with Commissioner Gordon, do everything they can to save Barbara… but also Freeze. The story’s nice, the action scenes are spectacular and the ending is sad, but beautiful. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ
