Love and Monsters (2020) (Film Review)

Okay! I think I would have liked to see more creatures in this movie. Reptiles, wasps, spiders and why not mega gigantic crocodiles! Basically, I wanted to say/write: “Ahhh! Finally, a film with scary, realistic creatures!” But it’s not quite there yet… although it’s not far off! As Clad says, we find the humor and fun of Zombieland here. But the hero is relatively annoying, soft and slow.

I fully appreciate his kindness, benevolence and romanticism… but he wastes a lot of the film’s time! He’s slightly reminiscent of the heroes Billy from Gremlins or Charly from Vampire, did you say Vampire?… but much more clumsy. And the fact that he’s stunned at first, but survives those 150 KM twice… frankly… I didn’t believe it for a second!

There are lots of good moments, touching moments, nice moments! So… excellent entertainment, once again… but still far from excellent!I wonder if there’ll be a second opus. We’ll have to pull out all the stops if there is.
