Rampage (2009) (Film Review)

Rampage by the infamous director Uwe Boll is a highly controversial film which has so much to say about the world.

Filmed with a hand-held camera that does not disturb, it pushes the limits of violence.

Because it cannot be said that this is not a violent film!

We underestimate the psychological violence, the damage of a massacre, the sadness of the families.

Just because there’s no physical torture, no bullets in the head throughout the film, doesn’t mean it’s not a violent film. I insist!

I had to find out after watching this film. Is it based on real facts or is it just a publicity stunt?

If it is, then he must be one of the most dangerous criminals on the planet.

After that, it’s debatable whether he’s in the top 10 or only in the bottom 10. In the top 10 or only in the top 100?

We want him to get caught !!!!!

Good actors, gripping dialogue, good plot.

Lots of flashes, too many for my taste, either news or flashes before, rather than flashbacks that only come towards the end.

Shocking phrases that come and go.

Here, we put our finger on a lot of things.

Both the fact that parents may simply want their child to leave home to regain their privacy, and the laziness of their child in wanting to leave.

These parents, let’s face it, didn’t invent the powder. We don’t feel they are too authoritarian, although we can see that they would like to be more so. Very naive! With mythical phrases like “a mother feels these things”, when she doesn’t realise anything.

And a father who would like to show that he’s the boss at home, but who doesn’t want to hurt or irritate and who even offers to help finance his dear son’s first apartment.

A son who finally even follows his parents’ lead.

You have to be very clever to do what he did. It’s a pity that intelligence is not always a good thing and that it also helps great criminals to plan a whole massage of innocent people.

A lot of shocking phrases.

Disturbing, of course. We don’t know if we agree with the outburst. In any case, we can’t agree with his way of wanting to change the world in concrete terms.

People are going crazy. Racism and fascism are everywhere. They are growing.

Motorists are aggressive. Waitresses no longer take the time to be polite. People are fed up with their jobs, but accept that they have to work to earn money. The Macchiato coffee lacks foam, so it must not be good. We are sheep. We accept that the government is hiding from us. Society has become what we let it become. It controls us, we don’t control it.

There’s a lot to say, I tell you.

And I haven’t said half of it: I don’t have the time!
