Seven Pounds (2009) Review

Seven Pounds is a riveting story of a man who discovers he has the power to change the lives of seven strangers who deserve a second chance.

Will Smith, Woody Harrelson and Barry Pepper !!! This trio alone is a real treat, even if we don’t get to see too much of the last two. But their roles are very interesting.I’m not a huge Rosario Dawson fan, but it’s good to see her. And here, she’s at her best, really in a touching role.

Having said that, the film does contain a few run-ons, although they leave room for reflection and show us the heavy side of certain situations. But the strength of the story, the film’s concept, the beauty of the direction and the intensity of the main character’s gesture outweigh these small details, as the film takes hold of our guts and leaves us with plenty of emotions. A beautiful movie experience.
