Leah Kate – What just happened?(2021) Well… it’s clearly Pop, it’s very adolescent… But at the same time… why make adult music when you’re a teenager? Punk and Rock have proved that you can still make teenage music when you’re an adult. Pop, but not without a Rock edge. But that doesn’t mean it’s Pop Rock. Although… it’s more Pop Rock than Rock Pop! Joking aside, I don’t know if “What just happened?” is really an album, because it only has 7 tracks and lasts just under 20 minutes. For me, it’s somewhere between an EP and an LP.

Let’s look at these definitions! An “Extended Play” EP generally has between four and six tracks, each lasting about fifteen minutes. So it’s too long to be called a single, but too short to be considered an album – it’s a kind of ‘mini-album’. The album, on the other hand, is the most common format today. It too is a collection of several tracks. However, it generally contains between eight and twelve tracks, with a playing time of between forty and sixty minutes, although it is increasingly common to find albums with more than twelve tracks. Finally, the LP (Long Play) is a long recording. It usually contains between eight and twelve tracks. It usually has between eight and twelve tracks. So it’s similar to an album in terms of the number of tracks and the length of play, generally between forty and sixty minutes, but the initials LP are used to mean that the sounds are recorded on a vinyl disc, generally thirty centimetres in diameter (33 rpm). So much for the technical side!

As for the music, “What just happened? Yes, it’s the bomb! It’s catchy, catchy, catchy, catchy, with incredible bass lines, funky moments, powerful, with a great voice that knows how to be very sensual. Leah Kate is one of those singers with a sense of humour who makes great music with great lyrics. Your children and teenagers are in safe hands with her. After all, there’s so much worse! Even if her songs can be vulgar! The three most vulgar of the seven songs (Fuck Up The Friendship, F U Anthem and Shit Show) are in the top 6 of her most listened to songs in the world. According to Spotify, anyway! ;-D https://www.leahkatemusic.com/
