The Crow (1994) I read this ultra-negative review: “This film is guilty I remember when I saw it at the cinema, man o man, I was still a teenager and I found it stupid and without any entertainment value because it had zero tension. And that’s where all the shit started with Buffy, Charmed, the kitsch Underworld and Van Helsing until I vomited…that’s where the root of the evil is: this junk, serious and cut to be cool.” It was signed under the pseudonym “toxic advencer”.

The funny thing is that there was a reply to this comment. Here it is: “Hey Mr. toxic advencer if you read the reviews of this film, do you notice anything? ?….nan, probably not. I think some of our contemporaries would do well to keep their mouths shut instead of spouting off baseless comments about humanity. such a writer disqualifies himself and doesn’t need to be commented on. Criticism is acceptable, even if it’s negative, but only the intellectually disarmed are capable of saying simple, unfounded things.

The film is a cornerstone and a masterpiece, but it no longer needs to be mentioned.” There, it’s said! The Crow is a magnificent, dark, melancholy film, one of the most moving when it came out. It didn’t leave many people indifferent. Brandon Lee is masterful in it and I’d like to pay tribute (as this film does) to this super actor who left us so quickly. As fate would have it.

The DVD also pays tribute to the creator of the comic strip from which the film is based, James O’Barr, with a documentary recounting his difficult childhood and suffering. Brandon, you will always be one of the best!
