Strange But True (2019) Per IMDB.com, “A woman surprises the family of her deceased boyfriend by telling them she’s pregnant with his child.” The film is gripping, enjoyable at times, ultra-dramatic at others. You wonder what is possible and what is not. We discover secrets at the same time as the characters. And the more the film progressed, the more I realised just how horrible what had happened really was. But, at the same time, that can be taken quite well by someone who is very naive. When you see the beauty in something despicable that you don’t know about, that you’re not aware of… is it a tragedy? That’s it! I’m not going to say any more… 🤫

Yes, I really enjoyed this film! Great plot. The actors are excellent. As soon as I saw the first few seconds of Nick Robinson, I knew he was a very good actor. I have to admit that the characters played by Brian Cox generally annoy me, except in Red Eye (2005). He’s a good actor who easily manages to make people hate him to no end. Amy Ryan is just as detestable here. At one point, she approached a bridge. I would have loved her to have jumped! The same thing happened to me with Olivia Wilde in the film Meadowland (2015).But she’s still an excellent mother. It’s just that she’s very cold and direct in this rather icy role. Greg Kinnear is the opposite. I don’t remember seeing him in a loathsome role. At worst, he’s annoying, but still manages to make you laugh, especially unintentionally. He’s the actor I know and like best in the film. For the moment, anyway. And finally Margaret Qualley! I watched this film mainly because of her. I’ve just learned that she’s Andie MacDowell’s daughter and I was keen to see her in action in a role. She’s incredible and totally spontaneous. Much appreciated.
