Hypnotic (2002) Also titled as Dr. Sleep or Close Your Eyes. It says on the cover: WARNING: watching this film may cause you to break out into a cold sweat. So I was expecting a traumatic film. But what I found was a fascinating English film.
It’s a pleasure to watch. The extreme violence is more artistic than explicit. The actors and actresses are very good and very natural, especially Goran Visnjic! The actor is reminiscent of Kevin Kline, Nicolas Cage and Terry Hall, the late lead singer of The Specials, Fun Boy Three and The Colourfield.
The dialogue is very well written, the pace of the film leaves no time for boredom and the plot is interesting. The French dubbing is impeccable.
The very end is not very reassuring and made me sad. But that’s just the little rule (sometimes ridiculous, sometimes interesting) of the film that can’t end too well.
