Once upon a time in… Hollywood (2019) Interesting …I found all the reviews I read interesting! “Recap: Some people think Tarantino is at the top of his game here. Others were not marked by this film, but loved Django… like most people. Some found Bof! Some only liked the most violent part towards the end, while others were disappointed, especially on the production side.”
And what about me? I’ll give it three stars. I expected more, I expected to see more, I expected to see the famous murder this movie was supposed to be about. I didn’t find Django to be a masterpiece, although it is very good.
I’m not a fan of butchery and that’s what I enjoyed here… although of course, Tarantino always manages to get the violence across with a hell of a lot of humor.
Otherwise, seeing Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt was a dream for me… even if it could have been much better. There’s almost always one of my favorite actresses in Tarantino… except in Django… again! Here, it’s Margot Robbie.
I also love Dakota Fanning… but I didn’t recognize her here. I’ll have to see who it was again. The same goes for Timothy Olyphant, Burt Reynolds and Luke Perry. I didn’t recognize them or feel I’d seen them. Al Pacino and Kurt Russell are always good to see… but it was just to see them here. Their characters are practically useless.
Well… a nice moment… but for 2h45 of film, I don’t think much happened. The hitchhiker who leads to the Manson refuge is a moment I really liked. So much for this film.
