The Mysterines – Reeling (2022) Rock band from Liverpool, UK. This album is brilliant. From start to finish, it rocks!Ideal for starting the day. She’s got a great voice and the attitude of a real rocker, even when she’s singing. They’re all really good alternative musicians. The music ranges from high-energy punk to grunge to soaring, powerful ballads. The very poetic lyrics are grafted on top of this. It’s not easy to find physical support for this band.

The latest album, Afraid of Tomorrows, is available on CD Digipack or vinyl. Everything else can be found on streaming platforms. However, being too demanding at times, I’m not going to give them five stars, because there are bands that I like even more and that I could listen to over and over again. Here, there’s a sort of break in rhythm between the tracks. You’re launched into an explosive track… but it’s suddenly followed by a ballad. I’m aware that it’s very difficult to place tracks on an album, just like when you make a set list for a concert.

Some listeners will only wait for the quiet tracks, while others will only wait for the ones that sound like a tornado… and will be bored for the rest. That’s what makes me slightly mixed, but nothing dramatic.

My Rating

Rating: 4 out of 5.
