Riot Grrrl Sessions – The 1st Session (2018) Let’s hope there won’t be a second session!!! Here’s typically the kind of band I love… but I don’t love Riot Grrrl Sessions at all. They’re everything my other favourite bands in the genre aren’t.

Yes, I much prefer Peach Club or Voodoo Queens. But they’re nothing compared to Illuminati Hotties, Pom Pom Squad, Japanese Breakfast, Thick, Girl in Red, Bleached, NewDad, The Dinner Party, Destroy Boys, Mommy Long Legs… you name it! This album really got to me!

Riot Grrrl Sessions is nothing original, just immature violence and anger. Their sound is good, but their lyrics are really bad, ridiculous, pathetic, vile and vulgar. Even their songs, which are almost good, sound like much better songs by other bands.

No subtlety, just fat, nasty humour. With a purely hateful, unconstructive feminism. Basically, the worst Riot Grrrls have ever done. A disgrace to the bands that created the movement, like Bikini Kill and L7.
