Morrissey – Vauxhall and I (1994)

This is the fourth studio album by English Alternative Rock musician Morrissey. It was released on 14 March 1994.

But…

… I’ve just realised that I don’t have this album.
Even though I’ve listened to it a lot.
Did someone lend it to me?
They certainly did!

Always great lyrics and interesting melodies.
OK, I’ll elaborate:

Music is often the best place to be!
Well… I’m not one of those people who says ‘Morrissey is simply the best thing ever!’, but I really love this ex-Smiths guy.

Of all Morrissey’s records, this is surely one of the most remarkable. Probably not his best, though. There’s always a dark, almost noir, undertone to the songs.
The production is fantastic, with a very low pop factor. If I were a Radiohead fan and wanted to discover Morrissey, I’d start with this one…

Spring-Heeled Jim is for certain Morrissey’s finest solo song. An earworm like no other. Of course, there are other songs. A wonderful album for at least those who were left alone, the disappointed, those who refused, those who finished, etc. For all those who need something extraordinary to continue to find courage and strength in this world. For those who know that there are people in mourning.
Thank you Morrissey, I still think like you… and really like you!

Another magnificent album.
With the beautiful and incredible song ‘the Lazy Sunbathers’.
