Cherry Falls (2000) (Movie Review)

Cherry Falls (2000) We’ve just entered the 2000s… and so have the bad films! Brittany Murphy and Jay Mohr in one of their worst films. And yet they were both great actors. You might think that the late Brittany isn’t incredible in her role here. But she was a hell of a talent. And it was always a pleasure to see her again. She’s really gone too soon.

As for Jay Mohr, who also had a role in the great Ghost Whisperer series, he appeared in one of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s worst films, All About Nina (2018), which also starred Common, Beau Bridges and Clea Duvall, among others. Everyone must have lost their way in that film.

Thankfully, Mohr was also known for being in two masterpieces, namely Suicide kings (1997) and Pay it forward (2000). His most catastrophic must be one of the latest, Hunters Moon (2020).

Thomas Jane and Katrina Bowden also got into this mess. Here, the film is quite ridiculous. Apparently, it features a serial killer who murders young virgins. Just the thing for a big orgy!

The usual horror of teenagers at the turn of the millennium. In that case, we prefer ‘Faculty’. Rob Rodriguez at least gave a nod to the genre and was still able to entertain with his ‘Scream rip-off’. But this part… phew, only to be recommended to those who only occasionally jump into the horror trip and have no comparison. Or those who really like the mix of sex and horror.

The film is called ‘Sex oder stirb’ in German, which translates as Sex or Death! Or Sex or Die.
