The Nun 2 (2023) No, I didn’t really like The Nun 2!!!Even though I love the character. But we clearly don’t see enough of her. Basically, I loved Conjuring 1 & 2, moderately liked the Nun, the first one, and didn’t like the Annabelle trilogy. But I want to see the first two Conjuring films again before I see the 3rd.

What scares me is that it’s the same director for these two films. So… 3 might not be as good. However, Michael Chaves made The Curse of La Llorona (2019), which I thoroughly enjoyed. Let’s really hope that The Conjuring 3 is at least good, if not excellent. I really wanted this film to be exciting.

I read a review that said: “I didn’t like the film at first. But I watched it a second time and now I think it’s very good. Gripping and powerful.”

Yes, I wish I’d been that enthusiastic. But something must have been overlooked. The first one was good enough. But in both films, the suspense isn’t incredible. The film isn’t totally boring, but all the fear is based on jump scares, unfortunately. It’s so easy to scare people by making them jump. It’s the easiest way!

Apart from that, there’s no tension. Still, it’s nice to see the lead actress, Taissa Farmiga, back in the Vera Farmiga family. There’s also Jonas Bloquet, a sort of young Nicolas Cage.

My Rating

Rating: 2 out of 5.
