The Returned (2015)

The Returned (2015)  was a U.S. television series created by Carlton Cuse based on the 2012 French television series of the same name.

Oh dear! Yet a series with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Agnes Bruckner, and Jeremy Sisto should be a hit. It’s incredible potential to have actors like that together.

Mark Pellegrino is also on board. I think he appeared in season 5 of Lost. I’m not familiar with True Blood, but its executive producers were also involved in Lost… which was pretty rubbish! So I should have known better. Lost is really the last season that ruins everything.

Here, even the first season didn’t make it to the end. When I watched the last episode, I really felt that it couldn’t end and be wrapped up in just 45 minutes.

I don’t really follow films or French series. I don’t know what the original is worth. But if the American remake is bad, I don’t think it’s their fault!

The series is slow and not everything is interesting. I watched it all the way to the end, mainly because of some of the actors rather than the story. So it was already off to a bad start!

I’ve always said to myself that scriptwriters and directors should at least finish a series, rather than leaving it hanging for lack of ratings. It’s totally disrespectful to those who take the plunge, and a guaranteed waste of time.

One of the good surprises is the kid, Dylan Kingwell, who is incredible! This child, who is also a hockey fan and player, is really capable of scaring people, just with his eyes.I think he managed to leave a lasting impression on me. 

All in all, this is a series to avoid, especially as it hasn’t finished yet. Even if you like these actors as much as I do.
