Silent Hill (2006) Well……I see that all the big fans have written their comments. For my part, I tried to see it twice. There were too many inconsistencies, or even no sense at all… and, of course, if you have to have experienced the video game to appreciate it, you’ve already missed out! Should you still be able to enjoy a film even if you don’t know the context? In principle, yes, but it’s not an easy challenge… especially if the video game goes off in all directions too. If the game’s a load of rubbish, then the film’s bound to be a load of rubbish.
Two or three nice messages, two or three nice scenes, but… Radha Mitchell isn’t an actress I adore, Sean Bean and Deborah Unger are great, but we see too little of them. Anyway…All in all, it’s highly likely that he’s a good director and that everything is faithful to him… but I just didn’t like it. It’s certainly good for those who loved the video game… which I’m not. In fact, alas, I never knew it.
