Veil (2016) is a film that explores the darker parts of human nature, and honestly, it’s a bit too creepy for me!
Thomas Jane‘s acting is really different; I barely recognized him. Even though I usually admire his skills, I only realized it was him during the end credits. Sometimes his performance feels over-the-top, but I guess that matches his character’s dramatic nature.
On the flip side, I surprisingly enjoyed Jessica Alba‘s performance this time. I’ve never really viewed her as an engaging actress or sought out her films. But in this role, she has a charm that made her quite captivating and added depth to the story.
Even with these interesting performances, the movie’s narrative feels hopeless, which could leave viewers feeling down. The message might be that sometimes, it might be better to keep certain truths hidden, as uncovering them can lead to more pain.
In short, while the film has some great acting and an interesting story, it left me feeling very sad. This wasn’t what I expected. The film’s sad tone lingers after the credits.
