Cockneys vs Zombies (2012)

Cockneys vs Zombies (2012) features English humour as mad as ever! However, I’m not going to write a review to appease you; that would be far too easy.

I still dislike gore, and even though I was obviously expecting it, I still dream of seeing violent films that don’t showcase excessive violence and horror films without an abundance of blood. It reminds me of The Walking Dead in its early days. I think it’s brilliant that those who aren’t keen on zombie stories can still enjoy zombie films. Unfortunately, The Walking Dead lost quite a few viewers in its eighth season.

I just finished watching it today and thought I’d follow it up with this film. Overall, I had a lovely time, with some chuckles, good humour, and enjoyable music… but it’s not quite on par with Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland. There were some lengthy stretches, but it picks up again. Ultimately, it’s a good laugh. However, it is definitely not the film of the year for 2012, for various reasons.
