Muse (2017)

Muse (2017) Holy Jaume Balagueró! This Spanish director is capable of making good films (Rec, Sleep Tight), but this one is certainly one of the worst he has made. Moreover, it’s so badly acted that it’s almost funny!

Long, slow, absolutely sustainable suspense. And the 7 Muses in the film… it really is like a gag.

It’s great that they’re all different (one young, one very old, one nice, one supposed to be dead already, one more important than the others on whom the lives of the others depend…), but it’s not well done at all.

Too bad, because it was still an interesting film on paper. Good by far, but very far from good. Actors who should be more believable if they are better directed. Here, all potential is wasted.

Even the rather interesting dialogues fall flat. Ideas to be taken up again, but with other directors.
