Dirty Angels (2024) When the United States withdraws its troops from Afghanistan in August 2021, a group of female soldiers posing as paramedics is sent in to rescue a group of kidnapped teenage girls caught between ISIS (Islamic State) and the Taliban.

A very good film! Nothing to criticize about the actresses & actors. Here they are: Eva Green (Jake/Jessica Rabbit), Ruby Rose (Medic), Maria Bakalova (The Bomb), Rona-Lee Shimon (Rocky), Jojo T. Gibbs (Geek), Emily Bruni (Shooter), Edmund Kingsley (Dr. Mike), Christopher Backus (Travis), George Iskandar (Amir, the leader of the terrorist group), Reza Brojerdi (Malik, the lorry driver), and Aziz Çapkurt (Abbas, Malik’s older brother, a taxi driver). Laëtitia Eïdo plays Awina, an Afghan friend of Jake. In reality, her father is French and her mother Lebanese. 60% of the team are highly qualified women: – Rocky is a mechanic, – Geek is a technician, a hacker, – Shooter: weapons specialist, sniper – Bomb: explosives specialist and – Medic is there to take over the operation.

They pose as staff from an NGO, an international humanitarian group run by Dr. Mike. The group, aided by an Afghan army officer and the Minister of Education, is up against both Daesh and the Taliban. Filming begins in December 2022 in Morocco and in the studios owned by Nu Boyana Film Studios near Thérmi in Greece.

The director, Martin Campbell, is from New Zealand. Dramatic action film. Eva Green shines once again. This role of a woman-at-arms is surprising for her, but apparently, she has little of anything. She has no limits and is capable of anything. The story is gripping, the dialogue isn’t cheesy, and the action scenes are very well done. There’s some shock, but there’s also some exaggeration, which prevents the film from being perfect. But I can forgive its imperfections because it’s really far from bad.

The film ends a little quickly, but it didn’t leave me too disappointed. So, of course, some will say that this erratic plot and screenplay is not only a far cry from Campbell’s peak action in ‘Casino Royale,’ but never capitalizes on anything or anyone, not only Green but also his co-stars Maria Bakalova and Ruby Rose.

`1qqqqqq1qOh yes, by the way, it makes you happy to see that Ruby Rose is playing again! Haters will also write reviews like: ‘If you’re looking for that kind of senseless violence, “Dirty Angels” delivers. If only it weren’t so boring!’ But I don’t care! This film had a lot of pretty cool action, a great plot, and, as I said, the acting was pretty good. I really liked these characters. If you want to see a comedy film or just a drama without physical violence, avoid this one!

Rating: 4 out of 5.
