I Care a Lot (2021) Obviously, this is a Netflix movie!!! This film is seen as a satirical comedy. But as much as the messages they’re trying to get across are good at the beginning of the film, it gets lost and sinks into plot twists that end up being ridiculous. The film starts off with the subject of guardians wanting to make money off the elderly by forcing them into old people’s homes. Then there’s a story about an old lady who is misplaced and turns out to be a fraud who has contact with very dangerous people.

The film didn’t go in the direction I wanted at all. And it’s almost as if the director did it on purpose in order to surprise, when in fact he only disappointed me. There are only hateful people in this film, which makes it so that you don’t really care what happens to any of them. It’s a battle of villains against villain, a fight between hateful people and execrable people.

Rosamund Pike is at the top of the list. She is well-suited to playing victims who take revenge or people who crush everyone else without mercy. It’s clear that this actress gives everything she has, that’s not the problem. In fact, she received her Golden Globe Award for her performance here. Peter Dinklage is always excellent and plays his roles to perfection, down to the last detail.

But I didn’t love it. I was gripped by the film for at least an hour and a half. But the last twenty minutes sink into something really detestable, as if the director just wanted to play with our nerves. And the very end is great… but it definitely destroys the life of a poor defenseless guy, who didn’t ask for anything and was forced to do a despicable act to get justice. What a sad world we live in! If only the film had been a little better. It had such potential!

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.
