Beast (2022) starring Idris Elba. Obviously, I expected better!
A film that has very beautiful images. A treat for those who have always dreamed of going on safari but never could. The special effects are realistic, at least for a good half of the movie. Then… it falls once again into exaggeration. What a shame!
A movie like “Black Water” and its sequel “Black Water: Abyss” except that here it’s on a lion’s territory that we are engaged. We had also seen a home invasion where it was a tiger that entered a house (“Burning Bright” – 2009).
Very well directed, it’s filmed in very few shots (at least it looks like it!) and it’s as if it was a play in the middle of the savanna.
Very good actors (including Idris Elba who chooses his films rather well) and young actresses who play his two daughters.
The suspense, at times, almost reaches its peak. But… alas… eventually falls back.
Here, the overkill joins that of Into the Grizzly Maze (2015) (“Trapped,” in French).
Indeed, when a human fights against one of the wildest creatures in nature for more than a minute and manages to get out alive… there is a problem. In this case, that of taking us for fools. Well… at the same time… as long as we are happy…
