Small Apartments (2012)

This film ends better than it begins. Even though I was already laughing in the first few minutes. I enjoyed the second part better than the first this time.

James Caan, always in his annoying roles. But he can be touching too. There is no doubt that this man has talent. He must be one of the funniest guys around. His name is Franklin Franklin. He’s always dressed in a slip and a wig. The rest is secondary!

Peter Stormare: always in his hateful guy roles. I don’t know how he does it, but each of his characters is more obnoxious than the other. Here he gets what he deserves. Good justice for once!

Dolph Lundgren: I almost don’t understand this actor! How does he manage to be so extraordinary? And what charisma! He does cartoon voices, is known for his action roles and appears in comedies like this one. Even when he has a very small role, he is always one of, if not THE best character in the movies he appears in.

The comparison is going to be special, but it’s like Rowan Atkinson: he’s consistently the best in everything he appears in.

Johnny Knoxville: I don’t really know him, but I really liked him here. Quite charismatic, good looking and charming. He’s touching, as well as being an important and endearing character.

Dj Qualls: small role for this guy who did miracles in his role in Road Trip, one of the best teenage fat humor movies. He’s a pleasure to watch here too. Juno Temple: plays a sexually liberated and not very endearing girl. Rebel Wilson: much the same as Juno… except we see a lot less of her. She’s not even in ten minutes of the film. Billy Crystal: I really liked him as the character who investigates and tries to find out what happened.

James Marsden: Not only is it always a pleasure to see this actor in comedic roles, which don’t seem to be his basic range… but seeing him opposite Dolph Lundgren in a scene was a pure delight. Saffron Burrows: I didn’t even notice she was in this film. That’s saying something!!! A nice little moment. A funny film, touching at times, which will not leave an incredible memory, but which is a pleasure to see once.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
