Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) Darn! It’s been a while since I saw it, so I won’t be able to write a good review. But from what I remember: the story’s nice, there’s a certain amount of suspense and action, but there’s also some exaggeration. So it’s not a perfect film… but it still deserves its four stars, I think, because it’s a pretty good memory. And compared to all the rubbish that’s come out in the last four years, it’s a nice surprise.

Angelina Jolie in a very good role, very maternal and still a strong woman. Nicholas Hoult, on the other hand, is in an obnoxious and rather despicable role. That said, he knows how to choose his roles and his films. An actor who quickly showed that he doesn’t really have to prove that he’s very good. I have no regrets about having seen these films.

Here’s the translation of the German review below. It’s negative… but the guy still gave it three stars! Crazy!!! But all the better. Entertaining, but nothing spectacular.

I saw the film in English and unfortunately wasn’t totally convinced. This action thriller is certainly entertaining and has a few action scenes and positive moments, but at the same time it’s not consistently exciting and has cheap movie sets, indifferent characters, weak computer effects (CGI) and a meaningless story with logic holes. I couldn’t get attached to any of the characters and Angelina Jolie seemed old and out of place. The sheriff, played by Jon Bernthal, also went completely unnoticed and was completely unconvincing physically. That’s why I didn’t see anything spectacular and found it average.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
