Yes, I say that without the slightest hesitation. The influences of Hole, Bikini Kill, Lush, Throwing Muses, L7, Liz Phair and Sleater-Kinney are not about to die out! And it’s not just women, of course! Bands like R.E.M. and Hüsker Dü are quite rightly at the origin of the power of this kind of group. And let’s not forget Fugazi.If you like that band, you should also take a listen to Wisp or Glare. There’s no shortage of talent here, and fans are in for a treat.

This EP, with just 8 tracks that last a few seconds longer than 28 minutes, lacks very little to be one of the best albums of the genre (probably just one more song). In fact, I can’t wait for this team to finally release an album. Singles and EPs are fine… but they’re too short! I say that, but HotWax’s debut album (just released) is the same length.I’m not sure you can get it on CD, but you can get it on vinyl. And on streaming platforms like Spotify. Rocket is aptly named! Fits the group very well. Transcendent, soaring, explosive, I can listen to these eight songs over and over again, whether in my living room, my car, with headphones, at bedtime or when I wake up.

Yes, personally, I love this band. Unfortunately, they’re not the only band with that name, so be careful not to confuse them, as they’re extremely different. It would be a shame to give the wrong album to the person you want to please. There’s no need to talk too much about music like this, just run out and listen. Especially if you’re a fan of power punk, rock, grunge, indie, shoegaze…On the other hand, if you’re more into Jazz, Salsa, Tango, Opera, cheesy Pop, Classical, French Variety, Heavy Metal, Rap or Hip-Hop… yes, you can clearly skip it!
