Unknown (2011) is an action thriller film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and produced by Joel Silver.

Right! I don’t understand why this film is getting such good reviews everywhere. Halfway through, it becomes predictable, boring, and implausible. I don’t even know if I’d recommend this film. It’s only for fans of the genre. But who are they? Yes, I could say “The film is good and worth seeing.” But it starts strong, and then sadly falters. That said, Liam Neeson’s acting is, as always, outstanding. Diane Kruger does quite well. And January Jones… we don’t see enough of her for me to really judge. Frank Langella is often used to playing villains. But his charisma is also often impeccable. These four good actors are quite used to bad films, at least every other time, I think.

I read this review: “It’s a good thing it still says ‘Drama’, ‘Mystery’, ‘Thriller’ on the site, because the first term applies perfectly to this film. It’s really soporific… this is to warn you, that most people will like it, but not me at all, because this film is: a ‘DRAMA’, nothing new and badly made, and for that reason it’s far too long, not to mention the final sequence… I really didn’t feel any suspense.”

I actually think this film is pretty good. It’s entertaining, but it gets big after a while and the closer you get to the end, the more unrealistic and incoherent it becomes. The writers and their imagination have gone a bit too far. For those of you who are fans of 96 Hours and Taken, you’ll surely be hoping for more action from Neeson. To say that 1/3 is good and that the rest is to be avoided. I’ll also add and finish by saying that I’m not at all a fan of “Jason Bourne” and that this film is in the same genre.
