The Dinner (2017)

The Dinner (with the excellent Laura Linney, Rebecca Hall, Richard Gere, Steve Coogan, Chloë Sevigny) leaves me questioning what the hell they are doing in this awful movie.

Woooow!!! I thought this film was going to be a masterpiece. I hoped so, at least. I wanted to see it so badly. I thought it was going to be an incredible thriller with a breathtaking ending, full of twist after twist.

Instead, I found myself with an incredible cast in a film that bored me for almost every second. It’s long, it’s slow, and it’s meant to be intellectual… but ultimately, it’s a real waste of time and a waste of filmstrip. I wonder what the book is worth and if there’s any chance that it’s interesting!

The only good thing about the film is the song in the end credits: a live performance by the Savages of their fabulous “Fuckers”! I must point out, however, that this song doesn’t go with the film at all!!!
