Slayers (2022) 

Slayers (2022) is like Zombieland 1 & 2… but in a vampire version! It’s not as good as both, in my opinion. The characters are less funny! However, Thomas Jane would be the equivalent of Woody Harrelson. He is absolutely perfect in this role. That makes me very happy, because he got lost in a lot of bad movies. The jaded vampire hunter suits him perfectly.

Abigail Breslin takes over the role, or her role? No, she is very different from her character in Zombieland. She can play the snobby, geeky bitch incredibly well. It’s almost scary! She ends up much worse in this film than in most of her others. Malin Akerman, a far cry from her female character in the great Watchmen, is also very different from her role in the catastrophic The Aviary! She played the heroines, the psychopaths, the manipulators. Here, it is as a vampire leader that we find her.

Kara Hayward, who was in US (2019), is one of the best characters here. Perfect in her role as a smart and suspicious lesbian. It’s a good entertaining and action-comedy film. It’s not incredibly funny, and it’s not perfect… but it does have the merit of being a very good time. Sometimes I don’t ask for more!
